IN THE BAG!
Written by Annouk Post - Wednesday, 29 April 2009
IN-THE-BAG.jpg

I feel very lucky being surrounded by people who encourage me to keep on flowing! In other words, encourage me to go on (eco) shopping. Today I received this lovely pink ecobag by post. A present from my sweet mother and her best friend Erna.

This cute Rosette Ecosilk bag is a stylish alternative to plastic bags. Made from endlessly recyclable 100% (parachute silk) nylon, these bags fit perfectly in your handbag. Very useful for your juicy groceries or handy to carry your new eco pumps. Check their website for other shinny happy colors.

That we are facing a cultural shift towards a more sustainable and happy world is my personal certainty. Reading all the online magazines and blogs about eco-fashion makes it clear to me that a lot of people spread over all continents are aware of this global movement… But in between all this hope and positive signs of change I sometimes need a reality check.

The last few weeks I’ve been very excited to organize a talk show and exhibition: “Style will save us!” I am really proud that Shammy Jacob, director of Sustainable Ventures, will tell us about Nike Considered Design. The aim is to inspire and inform Amsterdam creatives on sustainable trends and developments in design and fashion.

MY DAILY BRIDGE

ANNOUK-BRIDGE.jpg

As a consumer, I have a lot of ‘daily’s’. Daily coffee, daily bread, daily yoga, daily chocolate etc. These needs scream for attention and like to be fulfilled. I indulge myself in these ‘daily’s'. My (bad) habits and not necessarily needed to satisfy ‘needs’. Recently a new ‘daily’ came into my life. My daily walk on the bridge!

ANNOUK-ENGAGE.jpg

Planning to ask your lover to marry you in an eco-minded and unique way? Than this might work. Pick the best eco fashionable restaurant in town and order a delicious organic cocktail. After singing the best serenade you have ever sung, go down on your knees and ask the BIG question. But….
