From Latin, "ultrā" means "beyond". ULTRA TEE offers something more than just t-shirts- they offer a world apart, an eco world with an artistic soul. ULTRA TEE followers are urban people, trendy, committed, "addicted" to fashion and have a sense of responsibility.
ULTRA TEE brand was launched by two designers Angie Sam and Juan Sebastian Rickenman in 2012. They met during their studies in design school and they both dreamed of creating projects they could be proud of.
ULTRA TEE's mission: to offer high quality low-impact eco-friendy and fair-trade products.
ULTRA TEE is a member of FELLOWSHIP 500 of ETHICAL FASHION FORUM - the global platform that unites 500 pioneers and innovators in fashion and sustainability to take the movement to the next level. ULTRA TEE was chosen BEST ECO FASHION NEWCOMER 2013 by SUBLIME Magazine (London, England).
ULTRA TEE's current collection is all about softness with a vintage touch. They use jersey and Tencel Lyocell for their women’s collection – the most environmentally friendly man-made cellulosic fibre, produced wholly from the wood pulp of eucalyptus. The material is tested for harmful substances by Confidence In Textile and is well known for its outstanding physical characteristics – silky softness, luxurious drape, and excellent moisture absorbency. It is also naturally hygienic as it inhibits the growth of bacteria.
Tencel absorbs colors very well and suits the style of the ULTRA TEE collection perfectly: it’s romantic, slightly vintage, light, and soft. For men’s collections they use organic cotton certified by Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and 90% reduced Carbon Footprint (CO2e) according to the BSI PAS2050 and certified by the Carbon Trust.
ULTRA TEE prints are printed on high-quality equipment using water-based inks with no chemical ingredients. Their inks are tested for harmful substances according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and certified by Confidence In Textiles.
ULTRA TEE’s production partners assure: No use of child labor, No use of forced labor, Safe and healthy working conditions, Legal labor contracts, Payment of living wage, Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining, No discrimination against employees, No excessive hours of work.
ULTRA TEE offers custom basics: they print their t-shirts only if they receive orders. This is a way of encouraging quality and “slow fashion” over mass-produced disposable fashion.
