Alert the masses! Some of our long-time eco-fashion favourites like Nixxi, Thieves and Nicole Bridger have been nominated by Fashion Takes Action (FTA) for a Sustainability Award being presented at The Sustainable Fashion Awards in late April. 

As an organization dedicated to supporting the green fashion movement internationally, the FTA has chosen 14 Canadian designers as nominees for the Design Forward Award based on their earth-friendly fashion practices. In the next few weeks, we will put a spotlight on some of these nominees whom we had the privilege of meeting in person.

Nixxi has been one of the pioneers of the sexy urban eco fashion as we love to see and wear it. Carried by numerous stores across North America, Nixxi's founder Jada-Lee Watson has been a great support to building this web-magazine since the start. For her, creating a label that is socially and environmentally conscious has always been an important commitment: “Sustainable fashion is everything to Nixxi. We choose to work with a local production house, where we can create a longer-lasting, quality garment.”

For us, it’s just another reason why we’ve fallen in love with this homegrown label, and clearly we are not alone! Nixxi was recently invited to the high-profile Ecochic Fashion Show in Geneva, where couture looks were featured from green designers around the globe. Have a closer look at how Nixxi stays green, and to see why media like Coco Eco Magazine, Ecofabulous and the Vancouver Sun have been raving about Nixxi’s elegant, modern and organic designs.

“It takes thoughtful care, boundless energy and creative financing to design and produce a line like this,” says Jada-lee. “A chance to celebrate our efforts would just be fabulous!”
