World Cup craze is well under way and a very clever label came up with a way to combine creativity, recycled materials, and enthusiasm for the sport to create fashion for charity.

Petites Mains is a UK based ethical fashion label which uses recycled clothing, waste fabrics, vintage textiles, lace scraps, beads and other embellishments to create one of a kind and limited edition cocktail dresses and evening wear.

To coincide with the World Cup, the label created an ‘England flag’ cocktail dress which was auctioned Wednesday the 23rd of June after England’s final group game. Proceeds benefited Kids Company , a charity that gives help and support to vulnerable inner-city children and young people in the UK. The dress was made from organic cotton with a built-in recycled silk corset and embellished with a red duchess silk St George’s cross.

Petites Mains will continue to support the Kids Company charity, donating 5% of sales to its Urban Academy - an education and life skills centre which aims to enable young people to move successfully into further education, training and employment through a range of courses, workshops and creative projects including art, media and fashion.

Keep an eye on this label as they continue to beautifully blend their talent for theatrical design with ethical fashion practices and a love for their community.

Stockists of Petites Mains include Danielle Lara and What R U Wearing.
