It's a fun word play, but an ever serious cause. Malaria kills thousands of people per year and prevention is simple: using mosquito nets. Sport Relief has come up with a solution to make malaria sexy: supermodel Kate Moss dons a body-cleaving strapless dress partly woven from recycled mosquito nets. The corseted, patchwork number was designed by William Tempest to highlight the celebrity-backed fundraiser’s 2010 commitment to battling malaria.

Both Tempest and Moss are rallying the British public to help fund insecticide-treated mosquito nets—one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways of preventing the spread of malaria in the poorest countries, where antimalarial drugs are expensive. Moss said: “I was shocked to hear that one child dies from malaria in Africa every 30 seconds, that’s why I was happy to be involved in this important project for Sport Relief,” says Moss in a statement. “William Tempest’s dress is a great way of raising awareness of the seriousness of malaria, a disease which is both preventable and treatable. Donating just £5 can pay for a net which helps protect from potentially fatal mosquito bites that spread malaria.” The one-off upcycled frock will be auctioned off to further the cause.
