Amsterdam Fashion Week
kicks off tomorrow night! The Dutch sure know their sustainable style
and we’ve compiled a list of not-to-miss events…as well as a couple of
shops where you might find the perfect outfit to attend them:
1) Ik! Ik! Ik! Fashion by Mediamatic

Open source DIY fashion of the Paris Fashion collective Andrea Crews.
‘Show me what you wear and I will tell you who you are’. Interactive
exhibition, 18 July at 20.00h, about self presentation with a new &
exiting life for the Fashion mountain.
2) WORN_RELICS© - SPRKMRT

WORN_RELICS
is a unique new space where the history and future of clothing can be
collected and archived created by Ruby Hoette. It is based on the idea
that clothing is a relic, something treasured for its past
associa°©tions. Clothing actually acquires value through being worn.
WORN_RELICS© will be launched on the 20th July 2008 from 14.00 till
18.00h.
3) Flore Zoé & Jessica Joyce in Progress, ‘...& NOW, WATER!’

Photographer
and Fashion designer meet. The collaboration between Flore Zoé and
Jessica Joyce is a unique fusion of photography and fashion. The
exposition ‘en NU! WATER!’ will be at gallery Studio Apart #2. To be
opened at 24th July from 17:00 – 21:00, during AIFW.
4) Total Rubbish: Desycling Waste Values - Platform 3, Lloyd Hotel
& Cultural Embassy - Oostelijke Handelskade 34 Launch Opening:
Saturday 19th July 2008 Time: 4pm
A work in progress. Witness the ‘desycling’ of waste into a high-end
fashion statement. As we become evermore aware of the effects our
lifestyles have on the planet, there is great purpose in re-questioning
the value that waste and creativity can offer us.

over three decades ago, Lady Day is an institution in the world of
vintage and second-hand clothing In Amsterdam it is the favorite
destination and hangout for the local fashionistas, designers and
stylists.
