Sustainable NYC The Waste Reduction and Recycling workshop will show you how to reduce your waste and provide resources to help you get started. You will hear from business owners and residents who have implemented successful waste reduction and recycling programs. Attendees will receive a vendor/resource guide to help you save money and grow green. Registration is recommended.

14 August Place: Haldon Forest Park, Devon Art in the Park goes Slow Fashion will be held on Saturday August 14 at Haldon Forest Park, Devon and promises to be a fantastic event for raising awareness of the impact of fashion and textiles in our lives and on the environment. It is a free event guaranteed to attract thousands of people to this extremely popular forest park that includes walking and cycling trails and CCANW, an arts and ecology organisation with a gallery on site. Arts organizations from around Exeter and Devon will be providing free family-centered drop-in workshops and there will be music as well. Stall fees are quite reasonable and will be supported by CCANW’s summer exhibition ‘Fashion Footprints: Sustainable Approaches’ – which highlights themes from the seminal book by Kate Fletcher ‘Sustainable Fashion and Textiles’ and is curated by MA graduates of the London College of Fashion’s Centre for Sustainable Fashion.
14 August Join the Ecology Center and CHERP (Community Hooked on East River Park) for a day of gardening in East River Park. They will be pulling weeds, applying compost and woodchips, and taking care of East River Park's plants in a sustainable manner. Tools and gloves will be provided, please dress for the fun. No prior gardening experience necessary. Register here.
15 August A completely unique event to accompany CCANW's ground breaking Fashion Footprints exhibition, the 'Eco Fashion Experience' incorporates a live contemporary dance and music performance in Haldon Forest Park nr. Exeter, showing off the latest in sustainable fashion, a presentation by Otto von Busch and an 'Old is the New Black' recycling/dyeing workshop courtesy of the Black Fashion Bureau (see www.oldisthenewblack.org). It's a one-off experience not to be missed - and the admission of £12 (£10 conc.) even includes a free glass of wine and a slow fashion goodie bag! Participants are encouraged to bring old/unwanted garments for 'updating' in the dyeing workshop.

Boston GreenFest 2010 brings many opportunities to the heart of the city to learn about green products, services, ideas, networks, and jobs.
