CALL MY AGENT

CALL-MY-AGENT.jpgThis is how it goes down behind the scenes: before the clothes get to your hot little hands, they go through a long chain of production and distribution, one of the last links being the fashion markets or tradeshows. As far as these go, few are as influential and respected as Designers&Agents : founded 10 years ago by visionaries Barbara Kramer and Ed Mandelbaum, acclaimed for their keen talent-spotting and inventive staging, the platform is now present in each of the five US markets in both New York and Los Angeles.

This month d&a innovates again by announcing the launch of the d&a green market, a sustainable trade event encompassing the world of fashion, lifestyle, design and community that will be will be launched during the Los Angeles Spring market (October 17-19). The juried show will focus on sustainability while maintaining the highest standard of design integrity. So far Edun, Stewart & Brown, Loomstate, and Namaste Green House are all confirmed to show at the new venue.

only is there branding strength in numbers, but they can all learn from each other, as well. We stepped into the Green arena because it is something we personally believe in, however, in order for green to have any longevity, it has to work as a business.  d&a green market is our way of showing the world that you really can do well by doing good.” Adds Barbara Kramer “We believe that ‘green’ is not a trend but rather a way of life.”
