Sustainable soirees for summer 2010 will officially kick off this week with the launch of an Ecosalon pop up shop and eco-fashion fete at Green Spaces NY in NYC. Hosted by the fashion and style editors for green tips blog and community of EcoSalon, Ecosalon Shops! aims to showcase some of the hottest stars on the eco fashion and organic beauty scene.

Green Spaces NY, NYC’s entrepreneurial work and event space for sustainably-minded businesses, will serve as an ideal venue for a gathering that promises to attract eco fashion lovers, in-the-know editors, key media figures, as well as celebrities from the local green scene.

Ecosalon Shops! has invited over twenty sustainable clothing and eco-accessories designers including NYFW’s The Green Shows Lara Miller and Tara St. James of Study NY as well as Doucette Duval, Feral Childe, and vegan shoe mavens, Cri De Coeur. Four eco-boutiques will also be on-site to share their latest fashion finds as well as products from Buddha Nose organic body care and A Perfume Organic. All attendees should come ready to shop, make new friends, and participate in a Twitter #Follow Friday tweet up. Guests will also be able to sample delicious organic wine, sweet offerings from Divine Chocolate, and Fair Vodka cocktails.

Eco-fabulous gift bags will be available for the first 50 shoppers, including treats from A Perfume Organic, A Lot To Say Scarves, RuMe reusable bags, Priti NYC nail polish, Nourish tins of tea, Organic Pure Life soap, Dialog change purses, a gift certificate from Juno and Jove, and loads of goodness from the event’s generous sponsors.

Erica Wolf of Save The Garment Center will also be on-site offering ‘Save The Garment Center’ t-shirts and chatting about the status of New York City’s historic Garment Center and what one can do to help insure its survival. N.B.: Though there will not be an admission fee for the night’s festivities, a suggested donation to Save The Garment Center is welcomed.

Guests will also be able to view the sustainable fashion and fiber exhibit, (Re)Fashioning Fiber: New Horizons in Environmental Art and Fashion , curated by regular EFW contributor, Abigail Doan. Abigail and several of the artists and designers participating in the exhibit will be attending the event and showing their support for Save The Garment Center.

Ecosalon Shops! will take place this Friday, June 4 from 7 pm to 10 pm at Green Spaces NY’s Tribeca location - 394 Broadway between Walker and White Streets, two blocks south of Canal Street. It promises to be a great kick off to a summer filled with fresh green finds and sustainable horizons.
