a.d.o. CLOTHING Following on the success of EcoChic Geneva, EcoChic Singapore, and EcoChic Fashion runway events from the past three years, Green2greener (G2G) and Dr. Christina Dean will once again bring together some of the most innovative collections in sustainable fashion for EcoChic Asia on Wednesday, October 6, 2010. The one-day event will take place in collaboration with Interstoff Asia Essential in the Pacific Rim’s luxuriously fashionable Hong Kong. With twenty nine nightly celebrated fashion and accessory designers from fourteen Asian countries who have strong design and/or production roots in Asia, this next installment of Green2greener’s non-profit initiatives will set the stage for the future of sustainable fashion and a revival of cultural expressions.
MEILING CHEN EcoChic Asia will be presented in two parts: part one will feature 13 established ready-to-wear ethical labels, whose design and manufacturing thoughtfully takes into consideration certain environmental and social standards; part two will feature 13 eco-couture garments created exclusively for Green2greener using sustainable textiles. Bora Aksu (Turkey/UK), Dorian Ho (HK), Oliver Tolentino (Philippines), Ziad Ghanem (Lebanon), a.d.o. Clothing (India), Boa (Turkey), Bahar Shahpar (Iran/NYC), Meiling Chen (Taiwan/NYC), and Mika Machida (Japan) are just a few of the global talents to be showcased on the runway in Hong Kong this week.
BOA STUDIO Dr Christina Dean, Founder of Green2greener and EcoChic, says: “EcoChic Asia delivers a strong message that Asia is responding to environmental and social concerns in the fashion industry. We’re seeing innovation and dedication amongst Asian designers to create garments that minimize the negative impacts on the environment and maximize benefits to communities. These designers are influencing manufacturing trends from their countries, and it’s an honor to showcase their creativity as well as their cultural heritage at this unprecedented fashion show.”

EcoChic Asia contributing designers are highlighting various ways to improve environmental and social conditions in the fashion industry. Some garments were made using eco-textiles, such as organic cotton, bamboo, hemp or organic silk, some designers utilize fair working conditions and others are focused on the revival of artisanal techniques.
