From Friday 17 to Sunday October 19th NiceFuture organizes for the first time Ethical Fashion Days in Geneva. It's the counterpart of the Green Fashion Switzerland event that took place earlier this year. Both events aim to heighten public awareness about the ethical textile industry and are open to professionals and the public.

The program offers roundtables on responsible consumerism and how to produce ethical fashion and exhibitions on life cycle assessment and trends in ethics. Several brands we saw at Ethical Fashion Show in Paris last weekend will make their way to Geneva like Les Fees de Bengale and Deux filles en fil.

Ethical Fashion Days wants to encourage young designers to create ethical products and has created awards in both jewelry and fashion design. The awarded designers will showcase their products during the event and winners will be announced on Friday night. Besides the exhibitions and fashion shows, you can swap your clothes at Etik & Troc and get a facial in the special cosmetics section. Children can make purses out of carton or PET fabric and design a collage on `If I was a fashion stylist`.

Partners for Ethical Fashion Days are, amongst others, the Swiss fashion magazine Edelweiss and the NGO Helvetas that runs a big program on organic cotton in West Africa.
