Eco Fashion Week Vancouver, 10th Edition

Celebrating its 10th season, Eco Fashion Week is informing and inspiring the fashion-conscious, and sustainable-minded, alike, in a way that harmonizes beauty and the environment. After all, innovation in fashion is inextricably linked to innovation in sustainability.

The event, which is going on now through April 14, includes speaker seminars, industry panels, and dynamic, collaborative, and award winning fashion shows. Global VIP guests, buyers, designers, stylists, photographers, and media, are attending Eco Fashion Week.

A special portion of the week, The Collective Conversation, is an educational series for fashion industry members and the general public. The day of open dialogue aims to provide information on the challenges, opportunities and innovations facing the sustainability of the garment and textile industry.

The Collective Conversation will take place on the afternoon of April 13 at the Waterfall Building , 1540 West 2nd. Light refreshments will be served. Doors will open at 11:30 am.

Schedule for The Collective Conversation:

OPENING 12:00 pm: Myriam Laroche, President and Founder of Eco Fashion Week
MODERATOR: Erin Cebula, Reporter with Entertainment Tonight Canada
SESSION 1 at 12:15pm: A focus on the Circular Economy and how we can design and innovate to eliminate waste and re-purpose our clothes.
    •    Tony Shumpert, VP of Recycling and Reuse, Value Village
    •    Kyle Rudzinski, Sustainability Manager, Levi and Strauss Co.
    •    Brock Macdonald, Vice Chair, National Zero Waste Council and CEO, Recycling Council of BC

1:30pm Break

SESSION 2 at 1:45pm: Redefining the future of manufacturing in North America.
    •    Jenny Hughes, Founder, Me & You
    •    Nicole Bridger, Vancouver-based Designer
    •    Sean Schmidt, Founder of Future-ish
    •    Glencora Twigg, Instructor, Visual College of Art and Design

3:00pm Break

KEYNOTE INTERVIEW at 3:15pm: John Fluevog, Founder, Head Designer and Owner of Fluevog Shoes.
