Eco Fashion World

We´re only three weeks away from the Fashion Summit 2009 taking place parallel to the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP15). Organized by NICE, the idea is to take advantage of the COP15 as a show window for the Nordic Fashion industry. The aim of the Fashion Summit 2009 is to sign a Code of Conduct and a 10-year plan of action for a sustainable Nordic fashion industry.

C.L.A.S.S. (Creativity, Lifestyle and Sustainable Synergy) is nominated as the official supplier of all eco-innovation materials and products for the Fashion Summit, with a catwalk show and competition to be held in the Copenhagen Opera House on December 9th, 2009.

The Fashion Summit will attract approximately 600 participants from the fashion industry and other creative industries. The event will include speeches by speakers from the fashion industry, the CSR field, politicians and NGO’s as well as a panel discussion and debate on what does a sustainable fashion industry look like and how do we get there. In order to showcase new opportunities and variety within sustainable materials, a design competition for new generation designers is taking place in collaboration with CLASS.

NICE is a new and ambitious Nordic partnership initiative with the overall objective to lead the Nordic fashion industry towards a stronger focus on responsible, ethical, and sustainable production.

C.L.A.S.S. is a global network of three showrooms in Milan, London and New York, each supporting and promoting environmentally better products for fashion, home and design through a wide range of eco-textiles, yarns, processes, finished products and services. There is a comprehensive materials library in each showroom, available for businesses, designers and buyers.
