The Art of Fashion
Electric Picnic Music and Arts Festival - The Global Green Area
The Global Green is the place at the Electric Picnic to slow down, recharge and reflect on a better world. Nestled between Green Crafts and Body and Soul, this year the Global Green explores the themes of togetherness and community using the picnic theme ‘Together we are Electric’ as the inspiration.
Re-dress has been asked to co-ordinate a sustainable fashion project in the global green area and have teamed up with art collective FOR THE LOVE OF (FTLO) to inspire festival goers with a live FASHION / ART design challenge.
The live design project will run on the Saturday with illustrators/artists chosen by FTLO designing fabric themed around "together we are electric." Designers chosen by Re-dress will be asked to create pieces inspired by this theme and in collaboration with the illustrators/artists. It will finish with a styled shoot on Saturday evening.

ASCENSION
Independence Day in the United States was celebrated this past weekend. A day when “red, white and blue” is honored and we reflect on the freedom in America as well as the sacrifices made by many in order for us to have this freedom.
Let us further contemplate our love for America by bouncing around to many of the eco fashion events hosted this summer, remembering that in order to keep our world beautiful, we have to take care of it.

Anna Herman grew up intrigued by the details of how things worked. This crossed over into her interest in fashion from a very early age. The elements and processes of clothing design were something she was so fascinated with that after attaining a degree in Fine Arts and operating her own store in Missoula, Montana (a hemp mecca), she contemplated the many life damaging aspects of the garment industry and immersed herself in the world of vintage shopping. She made new things, remade old things, and found herself still wanting to do something more for the world of eco fashion.
