| RE-FASHIONING AT V&A |
| Written by Kim Poldner - Thursday, 12 November 2009 | |
We reported on the fabulous fashion day at V&A last year and don´t want to miss out on it this year! On Saturday November 14, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, will highlight sustainable fashion with a focus on men’s suits and vintage. Inspired by women like Bianca Jagger who made men´s clothes sexy, the whole day will bring an ode to the classic tailored men´s suit. Talks include Charlie Porter, Deputy Editor of Fantastic Man Magazine discussing men’s fashion and David Saxby, owner of the celebrated Old Hat clothes shop who will give a talk on how to wear and mix up men’s vintage fashion. In addition, you can restyle and recycle your wardrobe with the glamorous clothes swap Swishing event co-hosted by Futerra. Apprentices from Savile Row and finalists of the acclaimed Golden Shears Award will be exhibiting their work and focusing on sustainable suits by holding a workshop on how to tailor suit pieces. Within the theme, you will learn how to combine your new and vintage items with chic men’s pieces like hats, jackets and pants. Admission for most of the event is free.
