Under the provocative name Sweat & Shop, Fashion designers, NGO representatives, experts, students, and bloggers gathered to discuss the topic of sustainability and fashion. The workshop was organized by sustainability network 3plusX, the Grass Routes Foundation www.grass-routes.org and fashion label Jovoo, in connection to an exhibition on political participation in the Berlin art gallery NGBK. The workshop contained short presentations by Philippe Renfer of ethical fashion portal Bransparent www.bransparent.de, Nora Schild from the project Wildfang, fashion designer Magdalena Schaffrin, CSR consultant Judith Vitt and Frans Prins from Grass Routes.
After the workshop Berlin fashion label Jovoo performed "Fast Fashion,100% Exploitation", where consumers could order their fashion product for average production prices, all under 50 cents, and get them sewn live in front of them. And as we all want cool fashion products for deadly low prices, there was a long row of consumers waiting for their item... Next station: Eco Fashion Network Party at the Berlin Fashion Week (Friday 30. January 2009), organized by Grass Routes and Karmakonsum
