Doucette Duvall – the hip eco conscious label from NY – has recently been spotted on the likes of Sadie Frost and Rihanna. Of course, it’s not the first time that the label is donned by celebrities, just last summer three sexy dresses were chosen by über-stylist Patricia Fields for the Sex and the City movie.

Launched in 2005 by Stephanie Doucette and Annebet Duvall, the brand uses rescued and vintage fabric and can be characterized as a mix of Park Avenue Princess with a street edge. They keep their carbon footprint low by having all items made in the NY Garment District. Sadie Frost enjoyed a NY night out in Doucette Duvall’s ‘Bonnie’ Dress in Metallic Fruit Brocade while Rihanna looked glorious in their ‘Audredy’ Trench.

News of their ‘Gossip Girl’ feel eco line has spread and Doucette Duvall has just been asked to show at the V&A’s upcoming ethical fashion day on November 9 2008. This event will be attended by Katharine Hamnett, Erin O’Connor and many fashioncelebs.jpg editors and Doucette Duvall will participate in the highlight of the day, a catwalk show.

Keen to get your hands on a piece of Doucette Duvall? If you don’t live in NY, check out the collection at Fashion Conscience which is the exclusive stock list in Europe and the UK. From the AW08 collection we especially love their ‘Mer’ cerise one-shouldered cocktail dress and for daytime, the ‘Beatrice’ dress made from 60’s rescued linen fabric with on-trend brass military buttons.
