"To live with your heart, be brave, excited and spontaneous!" That's the philosophy behind the fun, feminine and whimsical Melbourne based dress designers, Nut & Bright , a breath of fresh air in Australia's most unpredictable Summer.

Not long ago, when two friends discovered a shared passion for dress design, they took their dream and made it into a reality. Although neither had a back-ground in fashion or design the duo not only began to design the dresses, but the patterns on the fabrics as well!

Enlisting the aid of a talented Balinese business-woman whose small company provides home-based work for women in nearby villages, Nut & Bright made sure that the people who create their dresses are treated with respect and enjoy good working conditions. Meanwhile the fabrics are hand-printed or hand-dyed and dried by the sunshine.

With an emphasis on vintage styles, floral prints, and the carefree spirit of Summer; the gorgeous, classic designs don't skimp on practicality either, with the designers observing: "if we can ride a bike in it, we're happy!"

Dresses are available at in a variety of boutique stores and markets around Melbourne including the very trendy 'Design A Space' in Chapel St. If you're in Melbourne over Summer pop down to the Suzuki Night Markets and check out the range there. If you're further away dresses can be bought online at Nut & Bright online shop (just keep in mind that Australian sizes are slightly smaller than the American numerical equivalent).
