Eco Fashion World

Now in its sixth year, the Ethical Fashion Show in Paris is a much anticipated fall event that will feature over 100 international designers dedicated to showing off all that is sustainable, chic and innovative from October 1st to 4th 2009.

While this year’s show will be held in the center of the City of Lights, the venue has changed from 2008’s Carrousel du Louvre location to Tapis Rouge, the oldest Parisian department store dating back to 1784.

Increased recognition in high-end sustainable styles, materials and process will make for a four day experience full of runway shows, networking cocktail hours, an auction (with proceeds going to help build a health center in the Alwar district of Rajasthan), workshops for both students and teachers, and a forum examining ethical derived from the EFS fashions.

Among the many phenomenal designers returning to the Ethical Fashion Show include Ada Zanditon, Como No and Eco Logika. We’re particularly looking forward to what’s new with edgy French designer Oba’s jewelry and bag collection, as well as Nu’s innovations in organic cotton denim.

And just in case you needed another reason to head to Paris, GREEN Showroom will also debut at Paris Fashion Week from October 1-4. After its premier in Berlin this past July as part of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, 15-20 designer brands will show off at Paris’ the Salon de l’honneur. GREEN Showroom will be broken down to fit the distinct needs of the audience, with the first day, October 1, devoted to press and buyers; the second day, a salonshow; and the last day open to the public.

We certainly expect great things from GREEN Showroom designer brands Deutch handbag designer RoyalBLUSH, Queen & Princess, Seabags --custom tote bags made from recycled sails--and Reet Aus.
