Miami breezes and the sands of South Beach in Lummus Park were host to the first ever eco-friendly Green Fashion Show 2009 in collaboration with Funkshion Fashion & Music. Designers showcased their collections of recyclable, eco-friendly, earthy-funkshional runway designs with the hot, eclectic styles of Latin infused trends. Using organic styling products and makeup, the entire green fashion look on the runway was eco-friendly.

The show gave a panorama of fashion designers from Latin America who tried their hand at reducing, reusing and recycling for the event, coming up with creations such as a recycled CD dress, a recycled magazine dress as well as some more classic creations tailored from organic materials. From Chicago, the queen of eco friendly multifunctional dressing Lara Miller mixed and mingled with Federico Visuetti from Panama, Frankovik and Samy Gicherman from Venezuela, Adam Hernandez and Jose Alfredo from Puerto Rico amongst others.

Designers present at the Funkshion Fashion Show were energized and inspired by “green” and experimented with bubble skirts; basket dresses; ruffled, shimmering silk; slouchy, chic draping; vibrant jeweled-toned color pallets; bamboo accents; intimate, subtle, earthy tones and wild safari inspired prints.
