NATURE VS FUTURE
We’re only halfway through NY fashion week and you already feel like you’ve “preen” it all before? Time to look forward to your sustainable style break coming up this weekend! Of course even sustainable fashion is more fun if you’re cooling off with a cocktail and listening to some live beats while you’re pondering what your next purchase might be (but maybe go easy on the cocktails if you don’t want to end up with another jumpsuit when all you really needed was a sensible blouse). The good people at the NOW showcase, taking place this weekend (from Feb 21st to 23rd) in NY will be providing just that as you shop amongst some of the newest in progressive, conscious-minded, independent and locally produced fashion design. THE AUTUMN '09 NOW showcase features a well appointed & intoxicating collective assortment of what is sensational in accessories, womens’ wear, mens’ wear and eco lingerie.
RYANN
A few names to get you in the mood? We’re pretty sure you too will “love Ryann” with sharply cut dresses and infinitely mixable sexy separates. You might then have trouble choosing from a flowing lightweight organic cotton tunic or a more structured ensemble from Nature vs Future. Another local brand that’s on everyone’s lips and hips is Turk and Taylor, a little company that started with t-shirts but has successfully expanded into a beautiful line of tailored pieces for both men and women. And as always with eco fashion, you’re sure to find many one of a kind pieces!
