With the retirement of the quintessential event that kicked off LA’s Fashion Week annually (the Mercedes Benz Smashbox) for years, the Downtown Los Angeles Fashion Week (DLAFW) , an environmental and cultural collaborative of fashion, art and music, in association with Los Angeles magazine and Decades, will kick off the 2009 season with ‘An Evening of 20th Century Glamour’ benefiting MOCA. Additionally, Downtown LA Fashion Week will plant a tree for every ticket sold online as part of a global initiative via Trees for the Future.
