NATURE BABY

As a soon-to-be mom I am currently immersing myself in the wonderful world of ethical baby products. From diapers to toys, from cradles to the cutest clothes, nowadays there are many choices to give your little one the best with minimal damage to the planet. Let me take you on a world journey to discover some of the companies that make a difference.

A pure night’s sleep is precious for babies. As they spend so much of their new life sleeping, a healthy sleeping environment free from synthetics and chemicals is essential. One way to make your baby comfortable is to go for this multifunctional hanging cradle. Handmade in The Netherlands, 'the Kindekeklein' swings your baby asleep as if it was still bouncing around in the womb. For sheets and blankets, we travel to Nature Baby, New Zealand’s leading organic and natural baby brand. This company also offers parents the original certified Organic Sleep Cocoon to help little ones sleep soundly as nature intended. The cocoon has domes at the shoulder to allow a fit from newborn to 24 months and a double tab zip at the bottom makes for easy nightly nappy changes.

When it comes to organic baby clothing, the range of brands is enormous. Based in the US, Levana Naturals is a new wholesaler of organic and fair trade children's apparel. Products range from baby essentials to hard-to-find-items such as color grown cotton rompers, UV sun protective organic hats and infant sleeping sacks. For funkier designs, we go upnorth to Vancouver Island where Airiane Rogers-Baribeau prints the coolest designs on bamboo and organic cotton. Using only high quality PVC/phthalate free inks as well as soy and orange oils processing products, her company Little Inkers offers cheeky and politically inspired baby and kids clothing. In the south of France, Coty Jeronimus, creates her range of colorful baby clothes and funny doudous. Her brand Kik&Boo means peek-a-boo in Dutch and inspires the humoristic character of the brand.

All these companies have the mission to protect the innocence and carefree nature of children, the environment they live in and the society they grow up in, no matter where on the globe. For me there is no better reason than to shop with them!
