SIMPLE SHOES

So Earth Day has come and gone but it’s no reason to stop celebrating. Here are a few of our favorite things to keep threading lightly on the earth.

We already told you about online video shopping site Shopflick.com. This week, check out their new Hall of Style green episode to get a great “behind the scenes” look at the making of some beautiful eco fashion from EcoSkin, Smart Glass or Linda Loudermilk!

We took you on a tour of eco fashion shop Nimli in our Earth mag, it’s now time to take advantage of their 30% sale off everything in store until Sunday April 26th (code EARTHDAY09). If online shopping is not your thing, you can also go to their pop-up store in NYC at 12 Great Jones Street (11am-7pm, open every day until May 17th.)

You also know how much we enjoy the sharp selection at Kaight! Well this week, you can get your green on at 20% off all purchases of 100 $ or more (http://www.kaightshop.com/ code: “earth”.)

What about something free? One company that we’ve admired for a long time is Simple Shoes, who’s giving away a pair of Stop Global Warming flip-flops (with code HappyEarthDay09) with every purchase until May 31st. This season, we’re very excited to see Simple Shoes add some fashion forward designs to their great basics, such as this cute gladiator sandal!

If you’re starting to think about your summer shades, this is the perfect time to invest in a pair of Kayu bamboo sunglasses, at 45% off until May 22nd (code EARTHDAY45). Not only are they committed to sustainable design, they also give 50$ to a sight restoring surgery fund in the developing world for every pair of sunglasses sold.

Eco Fashion Fact

Non-toxic/Low-Impact

When a product is non-toxic, it has the least amount of toxic run-off into the environment: 5% compared to 50-60% in traditional dye methods for example. On this website, we often use the word non-toxic when talking about dyes, although it can also refer to other products.
