No, we haven’t become a bargain sales website (2 sales articles in a row!) we’re just very excited about the amazing discounts that some of our favorite ethical boutiques are offering eco fashionistas this summer. One of the arguments that we often get “against” ethical and green fashion is that it’s more expensive, as succinctly put by one of our readers: “WHEN WILL WE STOP HAVING TO BREAK THE BANK TO BE GOOD? I don't want to buy Primark (though I have), but I can't afford $50 t-shirts....”. Yes, you sometimes have to pay more for better quality (that will be cheaper per wear in the long run since it will last longer) and to make sure some of the money goes to the people that actually make the clothes, but with a little research you can find very affordable pieces that are ethical, beautiful and affordable. So instead of boring you with more talk here’s proof in pictures and exceptionally, numbers! Adili is having an “up to 70% off” summer sale, which it the perfect occasion to pick up some great summer gear which is sure to be in fashion next year as well. But their vast choice also includes pieces that will transition beautifully into your fall/winter wardrobe, as we discovered on our reconnaissance shopping trip!

| Milk Fabric
Milk fiber goes back to World War I, when the Germans, interested in other sources for fabric, discovered milk's potential for cloth. To create the fiber, liquid milk is dried and its proteins extracted. The separated proteins are then dissolved in a chemical solution and placed into a machine that essentially whirls the fibers together. The fibers can then be spun... Read More |
