Home arrow News arrow HOLIDAY WISH LIST
Written by Magaly Fuentes - Saturday, 11 December 2010

It's that time of year again. My friend Cinny still writes a holiday wish list (like we did for jolly old St. Nick when we were kids) and shares it with everyone. As a 'grown up,' some of us get so caught up with responsibilities that we at times forget to dream and wish for special things we would like to have. Here is a list of a few things I am wishing for this holiday season that I think you may be interested in adding to your list:

Enamore spells out luxury with delicate and stylish vintage-inspired lingerie quite like no other. I just recently acquired my first set of bra and knickers from their Bedrock Collection; the underwire bra and short-knicker to be exact. The items are super soft which makes sexy also comfortable and we girls know that is not easy to do. They carry several collections to suit an array of inner pin-up girls and offer matching accessories for each collection. In this case, I say give in to temptation! I would love another set from any of their collections but I mostly have my eye on the Black Lashes camisole and knicker. Don't forget to check out the accessories!

The temps in my part of the world have dropped, and to stay warm, one should not have to give up a sense of fashion. Humm helps you stay on top of that objective by providing a fun collection including snoogs, capes and socks. I'm loving the look of the Urubamba Serape Cape in black, made of 100% super soft alpaca wool. You can work it into a more casual look with a pair of jeans and a belt or wear it loosely and elegantly over a cocktail dress.

For your feet, or for mine, the BoBo Venus brown riding boots from Bourgeois Bohéme are the kind of boots you can wear any where and with almost anything. From Bourgeois Bohéme's Love Goddess range, these gorgeous vegan and fair trade boots have a 1.5" heel and are also made in black patent.

A bag for all holiday occasions is waiting for you at Annie O. Yes, these bags are gorgeous but what makes them even more special is the story behind them. Annie O bags are handcrafted by a women's coop in Peru who are provided work as a means of pulling themselves out of a domestic violence situation and into a life where they can support themselves and be safe. Take a moment to appreciate the intricate details of the Maria Embroidered clutch, available in both chocolate and black.

When it comes to shopping for the 'out of a dream' holiday ensemble, Stella McCartney never disappoints. Take your pick from her whimsical, sparkly, yet refined collections suitable for a princess.

Rain Tees t-shirts, with colorful images that have been drawn by children who live in endangered rainforest areas, are made with organic materials and a portion of the sales support the purchase of school supplies for the children in those exact areas of the world. As an added bonus, the child whose art is chosen to be featured on a t- shirt is sponsored by the company and their schooling is funded through Rain Tees. Choosing just one is a tough decision but the Logo tee and the Toucan tee are two of my favorites.

Soy Delicious moisturizing candles make a fantastic gift. Soy based candles have been around for a bit but many of them are 'blends' that are not safe for the skin. This candle is completely safe to use as a moisturizer so you can light it up to enjoy the ambience of candle light then use the oil as a moisturizer for your skin as the candle melts down into warm oil. There are a wide variety of scents available and their packaging makes them easy to gift for any occasion.

Organic cotton bath towels by areNATURALS available at World of Green's amazing online shop. The towels are 550gms twill weave for a touch of luxury after your bath.

Last but not least, the new S'well water bottle. Just launched in September of this year, this baby company donates a whopping 10% of net sales to WaterAid to support programs that improve access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities. That is in addition to the sleek design of the S'well bottles which hold 17 ounces of water to keep you hydrated when you're on the go.

Although the greenest thing to do is not shop at all, every once in a while we want something new so let's try to make it something that doesn't harm our planet.

Happy Holidays!
