Last
week we reported about the confusion around sustainable fashion jargon
that FT editor Vanessa Friedman brought up. It seems that Made-By has
taken direct action with distributing the Jargon Buster, a fashion
calendar with a word defined for each month of 2010. The MADE-BY
‘Jargon Buster’ explains and defines commonly used terms such as
‘green’, ‘sustainable’, and ‘natural’ in simple, easy to understand
language.
MADE-BY is a not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to improve
environmental and social standards in the fashion industry and
communicate progress in a way that consumers understand. MADE-BY works
with 35 brands and has offices in the UK, Germany and Holland.
Made-By has launched the Jargon Buster during PURE in London, the women's wear tradeshow with an ethical edge.
