No joke, you can now get yourself a Stella McCartney 100% organic cotton, fair trade, made in Africa T-shirt for 10 £!

For those of you who live in the UK, you’re probably familiar with Comic Relief, if you don’t, apparently, March 13th is Red Nose Day. The idea behind this is simple: “do something funny for money”. The campaign’s aim is to raise money for charity projects in the UK and Africa by making people laugh. And who says fashion can’t be funny? Stella McCartney has partnered with TK Maxx to create cute “red nose” t-shirts to raise money for the cause featuring SIENNA-MILLER.jpgMadonna, The Beatles and Morecame & Wise. Of course, she’s also asked a few celebrity pals to pose for the campaign and Gwyneth Paltrow, Josh Hartnett and Sienna Miller amongst others, were happy to oblige. If you’re a Keira Knightley fan, you might also enjoy this behind the scenes video of the shoot!

If you’re more interested in Stella’s more upscale work, you’re also in luck as the animal friendly designer just presented her latest Fall 2009 collection in Paris this morning. We were particularly excited to see that she is bringing back her beautiful hand-tufted yarn coats, a natural and cruelty-free alternative to fur, as well as a great metallic faux-leather perfecto jacket. See the whole collection here

Eco Fashion Fact

Custom-Made or Tailor-Made

We can also call it demi-couture or made to order. The classic example is the men’s suit that’s made by a tailor who takes body measurements and produces a suit unique to every customer.  The reason we consider it “eco” is that you get exactly what you want and therefore are more likely to love it longer.
