PRANCING LEOPARD

There are many yoga brands around, but not many that make you feel like practicing it non-stop. Prancing Leopard goes beyond that with their versatile yoga and casual collection that you can wear from yoga class to the café and back. Not running or simply walking, but prancing: moving spiritedly. Founders Sevda and Bert Holland had one thing in mind when they launched their line last year: love, care and organic cotton. Translated to a company that gives back to society and great clothes that support a dynamic lifestyle.

The first thing that surprises when I see the collection, is the design of the pieces. A lot of yoga clothes have a rather simple cut, but these show elegant lines, delicate accents and smart solutions to make them more comfortable and better fitting. From the hoodie that has a feminine round connection to the capu and a whimsy back that reminds of men's smokings to the black harem pants that have intelligent stitching to give your knees space, each design looks thought-through, based on experience. And the inside is as beautiful as the outside with an orange velvet lining giving you a luxurious feeling as you move. This is fashion in a new way, because some of the pieces, like the jumpsuit, would style-wise not look bad on the catwalk.

Prancing-2L2.jpgSecond is the über softness of the fabric, a blend of organic cotton and lycra. Pleasing to touch, the clothes almost seem to give the wearer a feel of cocooning and not exposing to the outside world. Because the idea that something happens to your Prancing Leopard pieces, is unbearable. Aside from the price tag (the collection is quite pricey, but who cares!), you just don't want to miss them from your wardrobe anymore. All items seem to support the 360° organic lifestyle the Holland's strive for and empower you to keep on moving like the leopard does.

It is the snow leopard that gave the Holland's the inspiration for their company and the company logo is akin to traditional representations from the remote countries of Kazahkstan and Kyrgyzstan of that legendary animal. On some of the clothes, the leopard leaves its mark in a subtile, seductive way.

PrancingL3.jpgPrancing Leopard's business model is centered on giving back to the community. Locally, a percentage of online sales goes to the buyer’s studio of choice. On a global scale they offer handmade artisan pieces, like the legwarmers and Princess slippers, to benefit underserved women's communities who make them. A certain percentage of their profit goes to the Snow Leopard Trust, dedicated to saving the rare snow leopard from extinction.

If you want to advance in your yoga practice or simply treat yourself to feel empowered, have a look at their user friendly online shop. Prancing Leopard offers a collection that truly pleases the whole being, from the eye to the skin to the heart!
