| CLOSET SWAP |

What’s old to me may very well be new to you and vice-versa. My sister and I grew up swapping clothing with each other and friends. Sharing closets made life easier at times and let’s not forget to mention, quite fun. How many times have you stared at your closet chock-full of things and proclaimed “I have absolutely nothing to wear”? What if you could share a closet with the world? Imagine a huge closet filled with thousands of pre-loved garments, accessories and shoes. New items to choose from every day - some things have never been worn, others worn very little… Your world-closet swapping dream has been made a reality. It’s called Bigwardrobe.com , an online fashion recycling site which allows you to swap clothes you won’t wear for things you will, trade unwanted items for cash, or just purchase items you want to wear for bargain prices. With nearly 30,000 members in over 100 countries, this less than 2 year old company has facilitated over 130,000 swaps, lightening the fashion industry’s carbon footprint by at least a shade. The site is super user friendly and holds quite the eclectic mix of labels, from high end couture to hipster-trendy, contemporary to vintage, you just key what you are looking for into the “search for stuff” field or browse to your heart’s content. They have also recently added a section called “bottom drawer” for items other than apparel, accessories and clothing which includes items such as art, books and electronics. To sell an item you must be a Friend of Bigwardrobe.com which costs just £1 per month but otherwise, Bigwardrobe is absolutely free to join. Friends can list any items they wish and there is no cost for listing. Instead of tossing your unwanted clothes into landfills, instead of purchasing new things from a store, sell your pre-loved things for cash and buy new things for a fraction of retail. It’s a win-win situation, freshening up your closet while providing much needed support to our ecosystem.
