What happens when a trendsetting vintage queen and girl about town enters a contest for the “second best job in the world”? Committed shopophile and exuberant It girl Xavière Guerlay is creating an Internet buzz with her application for www.letsbuyit.com’s International Shopping Consultant competition by challenging the very premise of the competition, conscious consumption is the name of the game as she commits to compensate the carbon footprint of her mission by promoting green fashion and sustainable products. Her shopping will emphasize affordable "must have products" made of sustainable materials from all over the world. The winner’s mission will be to travel to the premier shopping capitals of the world: Berlin, London, Milan, Paris, New York City, Hong Kong and Tokyo, and parlay this experience into a blog.

Putting her actions where her mouth is, she has already launched the website to give us an idea of what we can expect if she wins this competition. The result? Her very personal mix of affordable eco fashion brands like Melissa shoes and her favorite vintage haunts (like Beacon’s Closet or Artists and Fleas in Brooklyn) or outdoor markets (click the POSTS tab to find out the latest!). How did we meet Xavière? We had first spotted her in Paris for our very first Eco Fashion World street style profile, she was already happy to share her fashion knowledge with us back then, giving us her tips for the best affordable vintage shopping in Paris!
