Another design forward eco boutique has just opened its doors in the green town of Brighton, making this hippie chic heaven, which is only an hour away from London by train, an essential shopping destination for sustainable fashionistas. Proving that Fairtrade can be both sustainable and sexy, eco stylist Rachel Holland from the consultancy La Luminata, has just created a brand new shop, full of gorgeous ethically produced gifts, clothes and accessories in Brighton. Stocking an array of Fairtrade products from well-known brands like People Tree, to homewares directly bought from the traders. Director Rachel Holland said: “We designed the shop using eco principles from start to finish, by making sure that all of our designs were created using Fairtrade, recycled and eco materials. It's important to show Fairtrade products in the light they deserve – that they can be stylish, and that's what we focused on.” Adds co-owner Siobhan Wilson: “We wanted to present Fairtrade in a fresh, new and original light while fully representing the ethos behind Fairtrade products. It is important to us to move away from already preconceived ideas about Fairtrade produce and present just what great quality products is available in the Fairtrade market today.”
Should you get hungry, you can sample everything from exquisite delicate dishes to hearty lunches in one of the town’s many vegetarian restaurants then bundle up well and take a walk along the pier for some good old fashioned fun!
