Nothing beats a good get together to show off the latest collections and if you think nothing ever happens between the fashion week catwalks then think again! This April, renowned hair stylist Gina Conway is putting on a ‘green’ beauty, fashion and social event with a difference. As part of Aveda’s Earth Month 2009 donation, there will be charity auctions, raffle prizes, massages, eco speakers and fab giveaways all to raise funds for the Global Greengrants Fund. The Global Greengrants Fund support local waterways, promote organic farming, empower communities and help make clean water accessible for everyone on this Earth. ‘To hear that a child dies every 17 seconds from lack of access to clean water is absolutely devastating,’ Gina Conway says, ‘I am eager to support Aveda and their mission to better our Earth. Come on, let’s do it together!’ The water themed event is being supported by everyone from Green Guide, Green My Style , Adili, Devidoll and Green Fibres to Bo Belle, Sublime Magazine and Fifi Bijoux. It will be hosted in the fabulous recently opened Gina Conway Aveda Salon and Spa in central Wimbledon that even includes a yoga centre, due to be opened in Summer. An informal catwalk show will include upcoming ethical fashion designers such as Mark Liu, Ada Zanditon, Junky Styling, and Eternal Spirits. The free event, which is open to the public, will be held on April 30th from 5.30pm at Gina Conway Aveda Lifestyle Salon, 21/23 Wimbledon Hill Rd, SW19 7NE.
