EMMA-WATSON.jpgAlready a fashion darling with the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Burberry, young actress Emma Watson, who made her mark in the famous Harry Potter films, is now showing us her own brand of magic. It turns out this fashionista has a knack for design and a compassionate spirit, she picked British fair trade fashion label People Tree to showcase her talent in a new collection that has just hit the online store to our great delight. Striped dresses and tees? Check! That perfect little heather blazer? Check! Affordable prices? Check again!

EMMA-WATSON-FOR-PEOPLE-TREE.jpgThis exceptional collection is a charity line: acting as a creative advisor, Emma helped the team at People Tree create a vibrant collection of knitwear for women and men, consisting of cotton T-shirts, jersey dresses, poplin skirts and shorts. And what’s more, Emma shows off her designs in a 36-page color catalogue for the label. “I wanted to help People Tree produce a younger range because I was excited by the idea of using fashion as a tool to help alleviate poverty,” she says in a statement. “I think young people like me are becoming increasingly aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fast fashion.” As such, 80% of Watson’s new line is made of 100% fair trade-certified cotton. Love what you see? People Tree will begin shipping to the U.S.A this week.

Emma Watson for Burberry
written by Jack Collins, February 09, 2010
Emma Watson may say that she is "aware of the humanitarian and environmental issues surrounding fashion," but does this include her opinion on the ethical trading of the fashion label that she has been modelling for recently?! Burberry continue to use fur in their collections, and this video on the PETA website shows the shocking living conditions of animals on fur farms http://www.peta.org.uk/feature...-goes-bad/
