Norma Kamali lends her unique eye for style to the masses with the Norma Kamali for Wal-Mart clothing line. Always known for being on the cutting-edge (Kamali was making dresses from recycled parachute fabric in 1974!), the designer brings something new to her oeuvre — an emphasis on earth-friendly materials. Many of the pieces in the collection are made of 100% organic cotton. Of her design philosophy for the Wal-Mart line Kamali says: “I’m known as a fashion designer but in fact this project is about timeless style, which is everything but fashion.”

Famous for her stylish activewear and draped Grecian dresses, Kamali’s perfection for detail shines through in her very wearable pieces. A standout is the Organic Cotton Striped Bateau Tee (pictured). Full of French flair, you can feel good about wearing this black and heather gray striped top without worrying about compromising on style. It’s constructed with a flattering scoop neckline that flows into a long slim oversized tunic shape. Wear it over skinny jeans or leggings to be completely of the moment.

Organic cotton graphic tees and essential basics such as camisoles and ribbed tanks are also on offer — each one created from organic materials. All the organic pieces in the Norma Kamali for Wal-Mart collection are priced accessibly between $5 - $10, and are available at Wal-Mart stores and on their website
