London’s calling again, but this time around, the city’s rock spirit translates to the latest trends in sustainable fashion. The Old Truman Brewery has become the creative hub of London’s East End, and the home of the latest and most indie spirited ethical boutique: The Edge.
The Junky Styling people have joined forces with the Tonic team to create The Edge retail collective, a designer's collective to lead the way in sustainable fashion, providing a constantly evolving array of fashion, footwear and accessories for men, women and children from the very best independent sustainable brands.
Alternative, independent, slightly subversive and with a good dose of British humor, The Edge stands out on the green fashion scene with its selection of funky and affordable street wear. Basically, they make “recycled”, “organic” and “Made in the UK” look really cool in a way that’s appealing to artistic, independent minded grown-ups and teenagers.
We can easily imagine it as the closet of a funky East End family. She works in visual arts and lives in her Monkee Geenes skinny jeans in multiple bright colors, tops it with an architectural reconstructed Junky Styling jacket and finishes her look with vegan pumps or flats by Beyond Skin. He’s in the music field and usually throws on a fun t-shirt or hoodie by Tonic T-shrits over his own Monkee Geenes (but he sticks to black) and his Pants to Poverty underwear. They ride bicycles to work and carry all their essentials in a recycled inner tubing Cyclus messenger bag for him, and a graphic Vaho Easy shoulder bag for her. Even their baby is cool, no pink or blue for this mini hipster, he rocks his Kit N Kin black t-shirts with photo-real appliqués of cameras or headphones until he can actually hold the real thing.
