| POP UP SHOP SPECIAL |

Permanent shops? That is so last season. Since last year we’ve seen more and more eco popup shops bringing the latest and, sometimes the best of vintage, to our streets. Here’s a highlight of our favourite to date, including some happening this month! CURRENTMary’s Living and Giving Shop is a pop up charity shop on the first floor of The Village at London’s Westfield mall. Motivated by the current television series Mary Queen of Charity Shops that’s presented by Mary Portas on BBC Two, they aim to raise money for Save the Children, with support from Grazia. There’s already been a mad rush of philanthropy and tens of thousands of British pounds raised. You can grab yourself a high street or designer second hand bargain that may have been formerly owned by many of the generous celebrities taking part, designers including Orla Kiely, Luella Bartley, Nicole Fahri, Sienna Miller’s Twenty8Twelve and high street brands such as Nike and Gap generously giving over some of their own goods. This pop up shop is open until June 27th – expect a Super Saturday this weekend with style experts on hand.
If you’re looking to make a statement, the Environmental Justice Foundation (EJF) are opening their pop up shop doors at London’s Carnaby Street who are hosting their Swinging 60s
celebrations. They’ll be selling their incredibly fantastic exclusive
charity organic t-shirts that have been designed by Luella, Giles
Deacon, Zandra Rhodes, John Rocha, Betty Jackson, Christian Lacroix and
Allegra Hicks for £25. The ‘White Gold’ event will not only be sporting
the t-shirts sported by Lily Cole, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Nic Hoult and
Ashley Jensen, it will also offer a preview of a new photo exhibition
and offer regular screenings of ‘White Gold the true cost of cotton’. Not a pop up shop per sé, Colombia road’s lovely ethical jewellery and accessories boutique Cerise are playing host to what they are calling ‘an afternoon of eco inspiration’ this Sunday 14th June. They’ll be offering the (shop)floor to Beate Kubitz, co-founder of luxury knitwear Makepiece who will be talking ‘sheep to chic’ in her experiences of fashion and farming, and ethical shoe designer Hetty Rose will be offering a sneak preview of her latest collections. Ethical stylist Lupe Castro of Ethical Heaven will also be offering her top style and makeup tips.
