Your fingers are itching to get creative but, not having grown up with home economics, you can't even mend your fallen buttons! Not to mention the fact that you don't own any sewing equipment...

But if you live in Toronto, a new space has recently opened to answer your crafty prayers: The Workroom, a bright and cozy DIY boutique in the up and coming Parkdale neighborhood, is the modern answer to sewing circles. For only a few dollars an hour, you can claim your spot on one of their machinesworkroom2.jpg and do your thing. However, if you don't really know where to start, you can learn the basics in one of the many classes and always leave with your custom creation. Once you've mastered some fun skills get inspired by their collection of patterns and books or browse their amazing selection of block and printed fabrics. Finally, the shop also aims to be a meeting place for the city's crafting community with regular Stitch'n Bitch and Quilting Sunday events.
