Distinctively African, globally chic.  Fundudzi provides a capsule wardrobe for free-spirited women demanding sophistication, yet longing for something different.  Lead designer Craig Jacobs creates evocative modern clothing from pants to gowns, each piece a travelogue unlocking a piece of Africa.  A Johannesburg fashion week staple, Fundudzi showed in Paris couture week 2007, and was promptly deemed “pure elegance” by the French press.  The tasteful wrap dresses and playful signature hooded garments would turn heads anywhere.

Ethic-Chic

Fundudzi’s credo is “What you wrap around your body is a reflection of your soul.”  Socially and environmentally conscious, all clothing is created and produced in Africa using local fabrics.  Fundudzi also seeks to prove that fashion created in Africa can compete on the world stage.   In 2007, Craig Jacobs launched Fundudzi: Free, a collection featuring all organic materials like soy, bamboo, and corn.  When dyes are used, they are certified environmentally friendly.
